My goal through doing this blog is to support those who are going through life changes. I love to educate and share what I know. What has worked for me and what hasn't. I believe that we are in control of our health and that it is our responsibility to take care of what we are given.

We only have one body. If you were given only one car for your lifetime, you would treat it like gold. How about your body?

Curry Kale Salad Recipe

Over 3 years ago I went to my first raw food party.  I didn't know what to expect.  I thought I was going to be eating carrots with dip.  Boy was I surprised.  The food was incredible.  Even my meat eating friend was amazed by all the delicous dishes we were served.  At the time I thought, this is great but it seems like waaaay too much work.  Little did I realize that the work involved was really the same amount of work involved in putting on any dinner party.  You just have to be prepared and have the right tools and ingredients.  This is one of those recipes that Belinda, the party hostess made that night.  It took me about two years before I actually made this recipe because I thought that the fact that it involved fresh dates and miso (so exotic sounding at the time) would somehow make it complicated and labour intensive.  This is so far from the truth.  Besides, it is a fantastic way to eat your dark leafy greens.  I wouldn't have my kale any other way!

BAB- Raw Bill Curry Kale Salad - spices such as curry and cayenne may be adjusted.  The original recipe had more of both and I found it too spicy.

4 T Olive Oil
1 T Miso
1/1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp  curry powder
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
3 cloves fresh garlic
1 tsp fresh ginger
2 whole dates
1 bunch dinosaur (black) kale

Put ingredients into an Isablender, Magic Bullet, Vitamix, Blender or whatever.  I love my Isablender for this - it is like a Magic Bullet.  Add water to thin out if necessary.  Wash the kale and cut into very thin strips.  Add dressing and massage in for 1 minute. Serve right away or let chill for 1-2 hours.  I sprinkle it with Isacrunch hemp seeds for some crunch, flavour and protein.  If you want an Isablender or Isacrunch - I can get these for you wholesale or you can purchase directly from my retail website www.cleanseenergy.com
